Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
That's why you look at data, even with good ears I doubt you'd hear much below 3-4*. As for heat you can get the bike as hot as you like' just turn off the cooling, not exhaust fans.
So then how bad is it if you do hear it... Cause there was another thread where FM said the same thing... After looking at data, the knock was very slight and they were suprised he could even hear it.
Any knock is bad and will damage the motor. Most tuners wear ear muffs and won't hear any knock over the exhaust which is why a proper tune which is based on data is so important. Powervision + competent tuner + dyno time = no knock. If you have become comforatable with ditching the warranty; get it done.

Well got it yesterday, flashed the tune. It was pretty cool. Already auto tuned. Today was close to 90... Did a couple more sessions... Super awesome to have a fully usable RPM range.
At first it wasn't like night and day. I expected more throttle map changes. But it was really smooth. Auto tune I do think improved it a bit more. There may be a tad of throttle map... But certainly more responsive just because it's all usable... No pinging, at any RPM, in any gear, under any condition. Period. Smooth, responsive, power... Just like it should be. Runs so damn good. Ya, runs a lot better with fuel in it. I'll see how milage is...
