Crankshaft Repairable?

Crankshaft Repairable?
I was wondering if anybody might know how much out of true until you can not repair a crankshaft from an 08 Dyna.
What happened is my clutch basket broke and a large piece wedged between the primary chain and the clutch sprocket causing the chain to seize while the motor was running and tweaked the crankshaft (amongst pretty much destroying everything in the primary). I pulled the motor apart and split the cases. To the naked eye the shafts don't appear to be bent. The plug holding the two flywheels together has clearly shifted. That can be seen and felt.
I was told by a local guy that has experience with crankshafts that he has the capability to true and tig a crankshaft up to .020" out of true. When the crankshaft was in the motor it had to be at least .1" out of true cause you can see it move with the naked eye.
So the real dilemma is buy a used crankshaft that hasnt been tweaked for $250 then have it trued and tigged for another $150. Or do I send mine in for repair from somebody like darkhorse or Revolution Performance who possibly has the capability to repair such a tweaked crankshaft like the one I have?
P.S. If you plan on running a lot of torque (125 like mine) and plan on riding it hard, spend the extra money on a aftermarket clutch basket before you have to replace it along with a motor tear down and whole primary.

If you have the dough, an S&S crank is the way.
Full supported wrist pin with their rods, vs the OE taper-tops.
Forged steel, true, rock solid.
