engine backfiring

Default engine backfiring
Hi, I am new to the forum and was advised by a member to come on this site and pose my problem. Here goes.
The engine backfires on the rear cylinder only and on exaination the rear plug is sooted up but the front is clean. I have so far had the jets cleaned, I have put on a new coil and have just this evening put on a new set of leads. I have cleaned the plugs. Took the bike for a run and it sounds like a bag of nails.
I dont know what to do next. Any advice?

Default what kind of ignition?
what iginition set up do you have? sounds like it could be firing problem

What you can do next is tell us the model, year, carb or injected...

Maybe bad plug. try switching front to back and see
