Default Hamburg Harley Days Festival 2018

An event I was hoping to attend this year but never did! Excuses aside and currently recovering from an Inguinal hernia operation I have loads of time on my hands and as Winter is drawing in very little in the prospect of biking opportunities to look forward to at the moment. Have bitten the bullet and booked accommodation in the centre of Hamburg, rang the hotel to ensure they have underground secure parking and booked Channel Tunnel tickets. Motherwell rack placed in my 'favourites' to purchase for the Breakout and a Kriega 30 litre bag for my undercrackers, socks and t-shirts. 'Ready for the off.' Roll on June!

My wife and I are staying in the Prizeotel. Its about 5 minutes walk from the Grossemarkt. The wife does not like getting on the bike so I will drive. I only live about 2.5 hours away from Hamburg.

Slight thread resurrection. Time is drawing nearer Motherwell Rack and Kriega bag already bought. Am looking at a Sena or Interphone Intercom system for me and my fellow rider to be able to communicate on the 700 odd mile journey.

Anyone else perhaps based in Germany going?

Hamburg Post Mortem

Had a great week away. 1560 miles covered in total with a 570 mile jaunt in one day on the return journey. Bike didn't miss a beat and for the first time since purchase 18 months ago experienced the EITMS kicking in after a blast on the autobahn followed by being held up in road works. Gathered some great ideas from the multitude of bikes there which has now culminated (after promising not to spend too much money on this vehicle) with an eye-wateringly expensive 'wish list.' Have started chipping away at this wish list with a rear fender from Thunderbike with built in LED stop and indicators which will of course need carbon dipping and a new seat being made for. There are no pockets in a shroud and I will go with nothing.

Took many photos, too many to post but above are a few 'tasters' that may captivate your interest. The trike was originally a 1971 model that won best in class at Hamburg. My personal favourite was the red Breakout with the glass wheels.
