Default USA to Europe in June

Hey Guys - im riding my bike from San Francisco to the New York - then flying myself and my bike to Paris, willbe spending about 11 days riding through Switzerland and Europe - from June 30th to July 11th.

Im having a hard time searching events and stuff, but would any of you know any fun gatherings or meetups in Switzerland or Austria during that time period? id love to meet some European harley riders.

Thanks

Do you have a rough plan about your route that you can share? Then I can tell you what's going on. But you can also check out these websites....

We are about 5 hrs north east of CDG (Paris) airport.

You are just going to miss Bike Week in Willingen.
Google Camping De Hei. It's in the Netherlands, haven't been there yet, but I plan on checking it out this summer. If you have the time, I highly recommend Bavaria in Germany and southern Austria! Belgium is cool too if you wanna check out any WW2 sites, Bastogne loves Americans.

ohh thats too bad that woul've been great to see!
I do have a question that i seem to get mixed answers on. To abide by local laws, do i need to wear a yellow hi viz vest at all times or just carry one with me. Also am i required to have a spare bulb at all times?

Just want to make sure i conform to all the laws. Also - i have a set of V&H short shot pipes , with baffles. Do you guys get much problems iwth the law for your exhaust?

I was out testing out my current packing/setup for the trip this weekend. Getting excited. i leave in 65 days!!

Cheers

Maybe that helps answering your qestions...
https://www.drive-france.com/faqs/motorcycling-france/

Don't forget to get some cash / change if you take the Interstate in France. They have those tall booths and not all accept cards. In Austria and Switzerland you need to buy a tall sticker for you bike. And I also think that Austria requires a first aid kit as well.
And yes....you can get in trouble because of your exhaust. It depends on the cops but they are not allowed in Europe.

Thank you that link is very helpful! - great to know. Appreciate the information on the Tolls - currently figuring out my plan on how Yeah i wonder since my bike is not registered anywhere in Europe and its completely Legal here where i live, since i'm just passing through hopefully i can get some lenience.

and while i have your attention - any must see camping sites around Austria/Switerzland - im camping as much as i can and if you had a couple of lakes with campsites in mind id love to hear a local opinion.

Thank you!

Do you have insurance for your bike in Europe? I could imagine that is a must have and also a travel health insurance and road assistance wouldn't be a bad idea.

Check out that page. You can search for motorcycle friendly campsites here.

Not sure how far south you ride into France but that is one of the cool places to stop in France.

Are you flying back home from Paris as well?
