This would be my bet...84-86 were transition years for Harleys, and lots of manufactures never bothered to verify fitment for those years...I have an 84 FXST and according to most catalogs nothing fits it.

Thanks for all help,Im a noob to this site so please bear with me. little history; the bike was bought new at Milwaukee HD in 1985 by a big couple who should have bought a bagger.Before taking dilivery they replace the seat with a 1985 FXE seat.I purchase it in 1987,change carb and pipes,stored them,. later lost in garage fire.The bike is showroom except for the three missing parts. seat , carb, pipes. paint is still orinigal .( how do I add Pics on this site)

I looked and I do not have the exhaust system. I sold some original parts a couple of years ago, and they must have went then.

I do have the complete carb, intake, and compliance fittings, but not the original air cleaner.

What's the part number on the carb? I have one that's either a -85 or -86. Looking for a -84.
