Default Which new Starter?

I think I'm going to replace the original starter and cables on my '90 EG.

It did a decent job of cranking the 111 for the last two years, but the starter clutch is on the way out again, and the '90 model starter is different than '91+ for solenoid plunger and contacts, oddball parts.

What's your experience, good or bad, with different brands of starters?

I'd think a 1.4kw with better cables would be good enough?

My friend has had good service from a 1.4 All ***** starter.

Is the power from the 111 too much for the Harley clutch, or is it you?

Starter clutch,, the other clutch is fine.

All ***** 1.4 is one of the few I've been looking at, although the starter clutch in it now is from All *****.

Went with the All ***** 1.4, last year. Don't have the power you have, but my cranking compression is around 190. Did install compression releases also, which helps a lot in 95 degree weather! Have no problems , so far. Seems like a quality part for the coin.

Ride Safe,
Harold

Went with the All ***** 1.4 and their cables, cranks over faster than it ever did.

Some of my problem with the starter drive jumping around was the compensater, with 120k on the clock, and the last 30k with the extra push from the 111,
the retainer and spring, and the slider and sprocket ramps all had wear which reduced the spring tension.

Cured the little mystery noise in the primary too.
