Smile Starting issues

Hello, to all bikers. Ive got a starting issue with a 1990 Fxr with the DynaS ignition. The kit is new with the coil included. I have gotten new spark plugs and wires. The spark plugs are gap in specs. The battery is fully charged and the main breaker and the other breakers are good. The ignition has a mechanical advance unit also. When I started to do the timming, I jack the bike up and put it in the highest gear. Took the spark plugs out to turn the flywheel easier. I have two indicators on the flywheel. One is a dot and the other is a line. The DynaS calls for static time at the advance mark or 35 BTDC. I need to make sure that I know what mark is the advance mark. I set it at the dot first. Check for piston location on top dead center. I went to the nose cone area to set the mechanical advance and the ignition plate. Put spark plug where I could ground it. The module has two wires coming out of it. It has a blue and a white wire. According to Dyna, the wires can go on either side of the coil. I put the blue on the front coil and the white on the rear of the coil along with the 12v white wire from the switch from the handle bars. I then proceeded to set the static timming with the run switch on and the mechanical advance open, while moving the plate. The plate is to be position at the 12:00 position. Ive notice a very little spark. The spark is not strong enough to crank the bike. It spins fast. I need more input. Thanks.

It doesn't sound as if you have a factory service manual! One of them would put you right and is a wise investment. The line is TDC for the front cylinder, the dot is the advance timing mark, for the same cylinder.

I ran into the same thing a couple of years ago when I tried to install a Dyna S that I bought off E-bay.
Long story short the module was bad.
There is a testing procedure to make sure your Dyna S is good.
It's somewhere on the Dynatec website.
