Default Fl to fx

Has anyone ever installed a wide glide front end on an fl softail frame or know anyone that has? How does it ride and turn? Anything to watch out for

FL softails already have a wide glide front end.

You might need some coffee Tex

Fatboy, I'm pretty sure the frames are the same, should ride the same as a FXST

While Tex is correct , I think the OP is referring to the 21" skinny tire

Doesn't the FX also include the narrow glide?, both pictures are considered wide glides

Wide glide or narrow glide depends on the diameter of the tubes.
Wide glides have 41mm tubes and narrow glides have 39mm tubes.

The above are for EVO era bike as the numbers have changed on the TC bikes.

Yes the narrow is fx too, but the thread is about a softail.

To me, narrow, mid, or wide glide all refers to fx, ever saw a narrow FL?
Except springer, of coarse.

HD has already done it. it's called the FXST Softail...laced 21" front wheel mated to wide forks resting on a Softail frame. Looking at the accesssory catalog I do not see the Softail Standard (FXST) or the Softail Custom (FXSTC) after 2001.

I haven't.
Which makes the OPs question very strange to me.
He wants to put a wide glide front end on a fl softail frame.
Like I said it's already there.

Unless he mistyped and meant to say a narrow glide on a fl softail frame.

FWIW to the best of my knowledge there ain't no mid glide front ends.
Unless you are considering the 39mm tubes to be mid glides and the sportster front ends (I think they are like 31mm but I'm not sure) as the narrow glides.
