Default Detachable backrest. Need help with part numbers

I've decided to go with a detachable backrest on my 92 FLHS. I ride 90% of the time by myself and will just run the solo seat. On those occasions that I take the wife I want to put on a detachable backrest. I've done some research and see the 97 and up touring detachable backrest will fit. I'm trying to figure out the HD part numbers for the docking hardware. It seems to be a lot of different ones and I don't want to buy something I don't need. Can anybody help?
Thanks, Todd

If you don't have the parts book for your bike (something I highly recommend by the way) then the dealer ship will have it and can help you.

Or you can check any of the numerous online parts books for what you need.

I was under the impression that the quick detach parts wouldn't fit a bike that early(harley's online catalogue doesn't seem to have anything that fits my '90 for example).

Post your results!

I don't have the backrest or the docking hardware. The confusion for me is which docking hardware? Is it the same for a detachable tour pack and a detachable backrest? This **** isn't cheap so I don't want to get what I don't need. I have no interest in a tour pack. I just want to do the detachable passenger backrest. Thanks, Todd

Yes I use the same docking hardware for back rest. Full tour pack and also my razor pack
U might need one other piece. But it might be on your bike already

Thanks, I was under the impression that for just the backrest all I needed was the front docking hardware. Not the rear that you sent in the picture. Confused! Todd

This should be the one u need plus the back rest. Lots if back rests on eBay.... I would buy HD hardware. But after market back rest. Wife really likes it .
