Default help with what throttle cable to order...

almost done with my evo bobber build...need to order throttle cable...I have a ironhead throttle assembly at the bars and a super e....do I just order a 48" ironhead throttle cable? or does it have to be specific ironhead to super e

or just a 48" screw in Harley throttle cable?

I just went and looked at mine and at a guess (it has been several years since I put it on) I would go with the long guides.

If you can tell me the difference between the two I will take another look and tell you which one I used.

The second one is the one that's on there. Is it the one I need for a ironhead throttle cable?

I used the tall bracket with my Super E carb on a '98 ultra with stock harley cables (efi cables).

The first picture is the cable guide bracket for an S&S carb that allows you to use stock cables, the second picture is for the S&S carb using S&S cables. The first picture is what comes with the newer S&S carbs and the second picture what came with the older S&S carbs.

I recently replaced my throttle and idle cables on my 98 Fatboy with an old style S&S E series carb and upgraded to the new style cable guide bracket so I could order regular cables. The bracket was something like ten bucks on Amazon and well worth it.

You can order cables from S&S and just use the bracket you have already, or even order cables from Magnum Shielding that are the S&S style and still use your old bracket too.

Here is the part number I ordered on Amazon and find it is now fifteen bucks:

S&S Cycle Throttle Cable Guide 11-2338
