Default Newer Brembo calipers on a evo glide?

Anyone tried this yet. I wouldn't mind the extra stopping power. Looks like guys have used it on 2000 and up baggers but no one is coming foward with info on evo baggers

It's pretty simple swap. Newer lower legs so u don't use adapters( legs cheap on eBay 50 bucks) there are bearings u can buy to keep your 3/4 axle if u want
11.8 rotors. See how u like it. If u want to go a bit more change out the master in the bars. Take off lines, calipers, rotors and legs should only be 250- 375 bucks. Sometimes all new as guys switch out for chrome at delivery. Need to put a small notch in rotor for speedo drive. Easy with a small file. Big big difference in stopping

Lots of threads already on this one.

Brad,
If you're gonna use the 19" fxr wheel, from your other thread, then you will need a different mix of spacers. The hub is thinner than your current glide wheel and then you w would most likely need to re-shim the calipers.
Good luck and document it for the rest of us.

I decided against the 19 fxr because of the flh weight. I am now looking at the enforcer rim...

Not Brembos, just the 4 pot HDs, 2000 to 2006. Brembos require a different disc, I think. The HDs stop better than I can use.

You don't even need the rotors and legs as you can buy adapter plates. I have 1994 Honda Fireblade calipers (cheap as chips from a breaker) and Harley aftermarket 330mm rotors, they'll out stop even the 4-Pot H-D ones.

Kees used Yamaha calipers on his stock rotors and made up his own brackets.

I have Brembos and later sliders for my 1990 Glide. The sliders were cheaper as secondhand take-offs than adapters! Adapters are available for some Jap calipers.

Yep as was said the lowers are way cheaper. Everybody has to have chrome and most are switched at dealer. Seen new ones from 35- 55 a set. Not worth screwing with miss matched parts when u can do bolt ons now. Brembos are cheap now. EBC. Pads I paid 27.00 bucks the other day. Plus no screwing with brake lines . It all bolt on.
