We have bonnets over our engines, because our hoods keep our passengers dry! I don't have a photo of my MGF with it's hood up, but this is it with it's detachable hardtop, the hood is stowed inside. I hope that clears things up......

BTW: Nice color! Emerald Green? I had my 1976 Jeep CJ5 done in Natural Green Pearl:

One with the 'hood' off:

Depending how the sun hits it, the color goes from almost black to dark emerald green.

Wink

My MGF is nothing less than BRG - British Racing Green, although there are more variations of that than it is possible to count. My current MG, a saloon (oh alright - a sedan!) is 'black olive' pearlescent, impossible to take a photo of, but the darkest green. It does of course have a Mustang V-8 in it......

We also wear out "Boots" on our feet over here! I was working for a company one time as a youngster (about 15 years old) and an English Engineer came into the fab shop for a meeting with the boss. He asked me to get the blue prints from the "boot" off his auto. I looked at my boss having no idea what the heck he was talking about, the boss said "well we call that the trunk"....

If you'd opened the boot of that MG you'd have a surprise - the engine was in there! The other boot was up front, although there wasn't much space in it!

Been there and done that. You have my deepest sympathy. I had to have the first one surgically removed when it wouldn't pass and blocked the ureter, causing an infection. I had no idea I could be in so much pain and not die!

I've passed a few since then without incident. I have to be careful to stay hydrated, especially in the summer, working outside, or I'll get another. I have a couple in my left kidney now, but they are apparently in a "stable" state, so no pain.

There are dietary and lifestyle factors, but some of us are just prone to them from heredity.

Very nice Graham. I'm not sure that model was imported into the US. Do you get to wring it out often?

Prot, you are one tough guy putting up with all those issues.

8mm...that sounds like a big one. Maybe you could keep it for use as an emergency tire plug??

Back to your tire, that's what worn out Nebraska tires look like also.
