Default 1992 FXLR electrical short help

Anyone familiar with the wiring of a '92 FXLR able to suggest a likely location for a short that would impact all turn signals AND the rear brake switch?

Running lights are working, it's just the function aspect.

Brake switch and signal module are both fine. Voltage reg is all good so I'm looking for a bad connection that vibration is possibly effecting as its only an issue when the motor is running. Headlight and front brake switch are working fine. Where could my problem be? Thanks.

Unfortunately, it's probably inside the headlight can. PITA working in there, but probably best to pull it apart and refresh all the connections.

Looking...But, I agree, Probably, in headlight...But, Maybe not..
While I check, is the front and rear brake light Both affected?
also, Do the signal lights come on [any of them] and not Flash? or always off?
I'm thinking either the accy. Breaker, or the Plug to the rear fender...Both under the left side cover...[Stock]

I think both the brake light and the turn signals both work off the accessory fuse. If its a short in the wiring to the brake light, then either brake light switch should cause the fuse to blow.

If it is a Short...the breaker would cycle on and off...so would the lights...It is an Open, and either at the Accy breaker or the Plug to the Rear Fender....Both under the left side cover...

Thanks guys. The turn signals are lit, but won't flash. My tail light is lit and the front brake activates the brake signal, but the rear brake foot switch does nothing. The problem with the turn signals and rear brake light activation started at the same time which makes me feel they are being caused by the same problem. Both the rear brake switch and turn signal module work when tested in another bike. Bulbs also work fine when tested. I also replaced signal switch in hand control. Everything operates correctly when the motor is off, but not while running which makes me think its a vibration/bad connection issue since the voltage regulator also checks out.

Thanks for the diagram also, but does anyone know where these wires might actually meet at a junction that could be the weak link? I'm not great with wiring diagrams and maybe its showing me, but I don't know where all the routes are physically on the bike and where they might be in proximity to each other. I'm guessing the black cross lines are junctions or multi pin connectors, but where they are mointed on the frame would be helpful. Thanks again.

I'm Thinking 2 different problems...the reason the flashers don't flash must be the Flasher unit...the fact that they all Light confirms that the wiring is Good. The rear taillite??? With Ignition on is there 12v on one side of the Rear brake light switch? is the battery sitting at 12.5 volts or higher? even with the switch on? If you have a Hot-Rod Headlight, and It msounds like you have a Lights on always Wiring in place, the Hi watt headlight may be bringing a Poor battery down too far to run the Flasher unit. The Rear brake? ya still gotta ensure there is 12v on one of the Posts for the sending unit.

mine did this right before the plug into the primary corroded and lost conection ground cable broke to the battery fried tail light filament off it fell on to the other terminals and welded on so both filiments were burning off one leg ( that was a head scratcher) ended up frying ; tachometer. speedometer. taillight. headlight. battery cable. regulator maybe the plug they are a unit. lucky me2000 FXR only year with digital Speedo finally found one but it added80000 miles to the bike blinkers wont cancel when speedo doesnt work wow i hope you don't go through what i have.... good luck
