I used the modified Ricors, and Racetech single rate springs.
Much better, changed the lower legs at same time to upgrade to the later ( not Brembo) calipers too.

I just bought a set if progressive springs new in the box from a member of this forum for only $60

My next step is to order the ricor intiminators. It says they require 5W oil which they sell.

Anybody know how much oil I will need?

Heritage forks oil levels

11.5 oz wet (when you just drain them with the plug)
12.5 oz dry (when you disassemble the forks)

While you won't have to completely disassemble the forks to install the ricor intiminators you will want to invert them to drain all the old heavier oil out of them before adding the 5 weight oil.

I ordered the Intiminators and one quart of the 5W Amsoil fork oil they sell. With shipping it was $209.46

So the total fork upgrade will be $269.46

At that price, I think it is worth trying instead of $1,000 for the Ohlins set up.

Just gathering parts at this point. Brakes and forks are on my to do list and were two standout items comparing the new bike to mine. Still plenty satisfied with my engine because it pulls like nobody's business from idle until redline and has more soul than a Voodoo shop in New Orleans.

That's what I keep going back to. I don't know how good "good" can be on these things, but I feel like I should try the couple hundred dollar solution before I jump into the thousand dollar solution.

Of course, there are those who will say those few hundred dollars are wasted when the inevitable upgrade to the Ohlins occurs.

Yeah, but there are also those who say this is an exercise in futility pouring money into these old bikes that will never measure up. To use a phrase spoken in the new Star Trek movie by both Spock and McCoy, "Horse ****"

These two bikes are located at the dealer precisely 4.3 miles from my house. If my Heritage would get run over by a dump truck for example, these two bikes would be under my consideration, but barring that from happening, I will simply say to our liberal friends, I am Recycling!
