Proper Factory Service Manual?

Proper Factory Service Manual?
Having trouble finding the right FSM for my '84 FXST - EVO w/ 4-speed kicker.
I'm finding Softail manuals that go 85-88 - Part # 99482-88.
and FL/FX 1978-1984 - Part # 99402-84.
Obviously the first one would only be helpful where the 84 is the same as the 85 - which I believe is everything but the transmission. And I'm worried that the other one does not cover the EVO or FXST models, just Shovel FLs and FX's.
Anyone know what the right manual is?
Thanks,
Shep

Shep,
It might be worth going to the H-D website and the Owners tab, where you can enter your VIN, to see details of your bike. That will confirm which model year your bike is. As an example, 1985 model year bikes were made from around August 1984, so approximately 1/3rd of all '1984' bikes are actually 1985 models. It could also be sold in 1984, but made in 1983.
I can't find an on-line list of factory manuals, but I'm sure there is a suitable one for your bike, whichever model year it is. As a last resort visit your local friendly dealer!
