Default Batwing fairing

When I bought my 85 FLTC someone had removed the fairing and replaced it with a windshield. I thought I wanted a fairing so I found one that would fit my bike up to early 90's...baggers. Now that I bought it I want to stay with just a lower profile windshield and not use the fairing. What can I get for the fairing? it is black with gold pinstripes and has a nice windshield and the dog leg brackets to mount it. This is an E-Glide type fairing and out fairing only.

Wink

A 1985 batwing is the original glass-fibre one which is very stiff and mounts onto steel brackets similar to the traditional flat windshield, popular on Road Kings. Tha batwing which followed, used into the '90s, was a quite different thing, with the instruments mounted in a dash panel, to which the pretty coloured batwing was fitted. The dash is very sturdy, mounts to the forks and supports the batwing, which is plastic and not strong enough IMHO to be used on it's own. I bought one myself and decided it wasn't suitable, so then bought an early '80s glass-fibre one. This is mine, which has separate batwing and windshield. The black mounting brackets are home made.

I missed the vital bit! There are several windshield brands who sell suitable replacements, including Long Ride Shields, HDF sponsor, who currently have a 50% discount.
