Just to clarify things. I have a 1995 Ultra Classic with S&S carb. It has over 125,000 miles on it and i figure I should change or rebuild before I make any long trips. I've seen an engine from a 2008 fuel injected Ultra Classic used with low mileage. Can I use it for a swap and go back to carb.

Simple version no, somewhere in the forums this has been explained in detail a couple times. Too much different.

Hey, welcome to the forum. No you can't, unless you want to do a lot of cutting, welding and then properly aligning it all... Cheaper to buy a new Bike.

I don't live far from you and can aide you in rebuilding if you like. I'm In Selden...

You can put a twin cam in an EVO...

84 FLHTC with a 96" twin cam, I took the picture.

A 2008 would probably be challenging, but doable.

Anythings doable , question is will it be worth what it takes in the long run and how much extra has to changed along with the engine.

Not a drop in project for average garage guy.

True, but most motorcycle projects are not worth in dollar value, but to the owner its a labor of love. To shoe horn a 2008 twin cam into a EVO frame would be a cool project to someone with the time.
