Default Head Breather Bolts

Took the hypercharger of off my new to me 95 Springer to get carb off to fix leak. Encountered breather bolts I have never seen before. Question is best way to get these out so I can get the air cleaner backing plate off.

Big straight blade screwdriver. Make sure it fits and may want one with a hex just before handle for turning leverage. Some's Tin Man's idea of a bygone era.. Harley's use to use screws all over the motor.

I had a tough time getting those out as well. I ended up using an old fender shim in a pair of vise grips to break them loose.

On a side note: I just finished removing my Screamin' Eagle air cleaner assembly and replaced with the Ness Big Sucker Stage 1. Super clean install. Ness eliminated a lot of the extra 'stuff' The MoCo seems to engineer into things. $135 (chrome) shipped from J&P Cycles. You can re-use your stock 8" air cleaner cover.

Another time for a simple impact driver. If you work on old stuff they are priceless.
