Cam sensor question.

Yes the other meter zeros when the leads are touched together I'm actually using the same leads just swapping meters. This is a bummer. The ultima ignitions are $124 I had an eBay coupon that expired just cost me another $20 waiting until today. I guess the 2000i or ultima is the best option since it covers the module and sensor plate right? Dr do you think this is my 4500 power drop issue?

Dunno about your power drop. In my experience, power drops have always been carb related, but 98HRFB's experience shows ignition can certainly be at play. And we do know that your ignition system is "borderline" at best at the moment, so that's a good place to start.
I have a early (1987-ish) Screaming Eagle ignition on my bike, no rev limiter. If/when I need to replace it, I'd go with the Ultima thing, keeping waste spark.

Well Doc you've given me enough to at least know I have a problem coming even if it's not my issue now. I ordered the Ultima ignition and a new dual fire high voltage coil. I'm sure it won't fix my issue, but clearly something is messed up with my sensor so I'm done with it. Curious to see how Texas makes out with his test

To answer the questions in here for any that may read it in the future. These things can fail in ways other than the typical no spark when hot. New ignition from Aces&8s wired up and it's like a new bike runs to redline no power drops. So random rpm failures are possible. Thanks Doc and 98 for the diagnostic help with the meter.
