the TunderHeader is definitely louder than my original exhaust with the SuperTrapp slip-ons (16 discs). Not straight pipe obnoxious loud, but it is louder. I take it easy through the subdivision when I'm leaving early in the morning or coming home late at night.
The SuperTrapp can be 'tuned' with adding/removing discs to get the sound you want. I would have replaced my OEM exhaust, but it was cost prohibitive, considering I would also need to replace both the mufflers. The rear crossover pipe is obsolete, and the only source for a NOS one wanted around $500 for it. I got the ThunderHeader for $870, so I'm runnin' loud and proud. I haven't checked the plugs, but it's running sweet, so it's not a priority right now.
