Default Help! Trying to put my Ultra Classic back together...

I've got a 1990 Ultra Classic that I'm in the process of getting back on the road. My clutch crapped out on me, and I got sucked into the "while I'm in there, I might as well..." rabbit hole. So I took it all apart and got the final drive belt replaced, reinstalled the inner primary, replaced the clutch fibers and steels, and got the primary chain and tensioner loosely installed, but I'm having trouble finding the procedure for torqueing down the compensator sprocket for my model year. Can anyone provide the correct procedure?

I cut a piece of oak to jam between the comp sprocket and the clutch hub.

From there, just clean the threads, couple drops of red locktite and (going from memory but I think this is right) 150 ft lbs on the comp nut.

Is it normal for the compensator sprocket to be able to move in and out on the shaft after being torqued down? it seems like there should be a tension spring or something.

There's no tension spring but there is a spacer behind it. Go here and enter the year and model for exploded views.

Appreciate it, but only models it pulled up for 1990 are sportys. I'll make my way over to my local stealership and have them pull up the exploded view. Someone's been into this primary before me, and I'm fairly certain there was no spacer when I took it all apart.

I pulled up 91 exploded view, which is not different from your 90.

Wood method jammed against the comp and clutch pack works good, and it won't destroy the gear teeth, or you can get fancy and order the block tool.

I've got the tool. Mine's gray though. ;P It appears I am in fact, missing #8 in that exploded view.

Crap. There are 9 different thicknesses for that spacer. How do I determine which one I need?

I'm an EVO newbie, but wouldn't you use whatever thickness is needed to get the front sprocket lined up perfectly with the rear sprocket? So the primary chain runs straight and true?
