Like the other's have replied, it sounds good to me. I've been running an EV27 in mine since 1994. Actually on my second one, since the first one was showing a bit of crystallization.

Your 95 would have had the INA bearing stock. But SOP for any cam replacement was to swap it out for the Torrington.

FWIW, the front head will make more noise than the rear. At least it does on my 93.

Default Better vid, now outside

I shot a vid outside the garage after a couple mile ride. The vid gives a bit more realistic picture of the noise outside,
when the exhaust noise doesn't mix with the clattering. I start to think the noise might come from lower part of the motor, maybe the bearings... I hope I'm wrong.

I'm old and going deaf in one ear. And the other doesn't work all that great either. But I still don't hear anything that would make me paranoid.

Sound pretty normal to me. But if you're getting a ticky lifter or two dump your 20w-50 and refill with 25w-60 and that'll take care of that.

I agree with Rockout, if you are using synth, try mineral oil. I had 120000 on my FLSTS and it did Improve the noise however you'll never get it as quiet as you want.

What lifters did you use? And did you go with adjustable pushrods? It does sound a little rattly....... I'm using a lot more aggressive ramps and I'm pretty quiet.... The S&S quickies should make a nice difference.... That's jmo.......

Default I need help! Ticking noise front cylinder

I have a 90 softail custom. I have had this bike for years. I was riding home last week a got a loud ticket my noise. Using a stethoscope it is really hard to pin point as the noise travels through the front cylinder from rocker box to crank housing. This ticking starts at idle and increases in speed with RPMs. I'm change oil every 3 thousand miles, have rocker lockers installed thinking that was the noise at first. All stock besides pipes. No exhaust leaks, tight heat shields, has full power. I know every sound she makes as this is my daily rider. I ASE master tech but have been working on bikes for years. But I am stumped. There is also no play crank pin (removed heads to check wrist pins), cam is good. Ive got to get her back up as this is my only transportation. Thank you for any help
