Without seeing a bike it is rather difficult to place a number on it.
We can not see condition... are tires new (less than 5 years old) ?, battery age ? how are the motor seals?, how is the chrome?, paint?
Is the speedometer original?
Many questions..
If it has 8,000 real miles, all stock and is in bubble wrap condition then it is really up to the desire of the buyer...maybe they had one just like it a long time ago.
The price might not be too far off for a serious buyer...
There appears to be a range from about $7,000 to $9,500 on nice examples with a quick search.
Some folks forget that old bikes are becoming popular..
Rock bottom retail on most big twins with a clean title and some curb appeal is about $4,500 to $5,000.
If you study prices then it is possible to see how some bikes from about 1994 to about 2008 do not have a huge price gap.
