Just back from vacation and see that I have a message from you regarding an older post about FXR seats...

I can't get the message for some reason.

I do have a few seats, but the ones I have left are mostly new.

Not sure if you are interested in them?

I do have a used LaPera also.

Hey brain, I stumbled across this thread and was wondering how the project was going. Judging from the original pics, it looks like some guy went to a swapmeet with a handful of cash and built a bike while he was there. Current pics?

 

Ha, almost it seems. The deal was it was an aftermarket fxr frame and aftermarket crank case, it was supposedly built to 1984 FXR Specifications. The build was in 2010/11 and when I received the bike it only had 650 miles on it. I’ve put 10 miles on it since then
l have put foot boards on it cause couldn’t reach forward controls comfortably, it’s been rewired, new upper control switches, rebuilt the S&S carb, modified seat bracket to use current solo mustand seat but will have to modify again, new battery, l just got it running a week ago. Had to run a stand alone starter button. Runs strong and the modified second gear really pulls hard ! I have all receipts for original build which came out 13,120 without the saddlebags which were purchased later. It looks about the same but she runs now. Will add new grips and replace the throddle and clutch cables, I also bought a small windshield with fairing that still has to be modified and installed. And I think I’ll drop the bars down 6 inches or so in the near future.
