replacing cam soon
#41
I just had a lifter failure after approximately 35,000 miles. Had Harley B's and Wood W6. When it goes back together I am going with S&S lifters and I'm going to try the EV13. That W6 gave great power above 2700 - 3000 rpm, but I think I'd like to have a little more oomph at lower rpms. I spend a lot more time running between 2000 - 3000 than I do over 3000.
In the course of a couple of hundred miles I've already gotten used to the new feel and adjusted my riding style accordingly.

This cam provides a lot more power at the low end of the RPMs. With the W6 cam (or with the original stock cam before that), such a thing was not possible. With the EV13, I can be in top gear on level ground at just over 2000 (without lugging) which is around 45 mph. That's the speed limit on most of the two-lane blacktop in CT, so often I am behind someone who is obeying that limit and must obey it as well.
