What is this code for?

Thanks Michael.

code 14 is the engine temp sensor. P/N is 32446-95A (I think, that's from memory). You can buy them online from Ronnie's HD for about $80. If you spend another $20, you get free shipping.

I keep a spare in my shop. When the old one goes bad, I replace it then order another one for the next time. I'm averaging about 20k until they go bad and need replacing.

It's an easy fix. You don't need to pull the tank. Just remove the tank bolts, push the tank forward then slip the fuel crossover tube over the coils and pull the tank back. Prop it up out of your way with an old shoe, block of wood, rags, whathaveyou and replace the sensor.

Carl yes that is the part number, I ran up to the Sacramento dealer and picked the only one they had and then ran up to Nevada City and picked up a set of rineharts slip ons since I got them cheap.

How hot was it that day and was the bike idling for a prolonged period? Cause that'll do it when the is no real problem. Reset the ECM and ride it a while and see if it comes back.....

It was pretty hot here later in the day 101 but the light came on during my morning commute when it was only 80. Guess I could reset it and see.
