do you check the oil with the bike on its jiffy stand or standing straight up and down?

Most softails the book says on side stand . I was surprised my 1996 does show the correct way to check it straight up with side car.

read your 1989 ultra classic owners manual but its touring on side stand--softails and sportsters straight up

I'm not sure what you mean. You can enter any 17 digit VIN (from 1981 to Present). What are you looking for from 2002 & up models?
