Default Remove sprocket timken bearing

Guys, how to I remove this bearing off the sprocket shaft. Don't have the special tool. I was thinking about heating the bearing and trying to get it off with a 3-jaw puller. Might have to grind the hooks to get them to fit behind the bearing. Maybe a bearing separator? Ideas?

Last resort would be to take it to a shop and have them do it for me, but looking for advice here first.

Is that a bearing separator and 2-jaw puller combination? or is that a special tool?

It's a separator that comes with a puller. Not HD specific. You can get similar ones at harbor freight.

After you get it off, what's your plan? You'll need some way to get it back on, and also a hydraulic press (unless you get super lucky and get the new one shimmed right on the first try).

One step at a time.

Update: stopped by Harbor Freights (your DIY friend), and got the bearing separator and puller set using 20% coupon. Worked great getting the bearing off the sprocket shaft. Used the parts marked with red "X" and an impact to zip it off. Took a few minutes to do. Hope this helps someone else.

I'm going to have to buy the special bearing install tool. A friend has a press that I can use, so that's solved.

I don't need this project, but it's fun learning.
