That kit is for a Softtail, Not a Ultra.
My parts will be delivered today. Plan on digging into this tonight.

Working from home today....Saw my parts were "Out for Delivery" so I used my lunch hour to get this far.

But no horrible smells coming from the primary case, like I have read some people experiencing. Stator doesn't look burnt or anything from what I can tell....But it sure isn't producing power.

Did you test it with the Doc's sticky?
I've known regulators to go bad without the stator having a problem.

That said the smell test is only good approx 90% of the time.
Lack of smell doesn't guarantee a good stator.

Well ebay bullshit arrived DOA (so trying to work the the seller to get a refund). Stator still producing no power. So I just sucked it up and called my local HD. Apparently the Regulator is different for a carbed bike and FI. So $434 later....I have my parts. Hoping to finish the job in the morning.

Man this has been a PITA! I swear this 96 is like bastard bike or something, every part I order is not correct. This is like the 4th time i've ordered parts that (online dealers) say they are for the EFI ULtra CLassic and when they get here they are different then what comes off. Seems only Harley dealers have the correct items.

But I can seriously feel a difference in the HD stator and the Ebay stator, the HD one is probably 2-3 more pounds.

I figured it would be and I'm sorry for your troubles.
Harley and Cycle Electric are the only 2 places to get a quality charging system.

Didn't mean to kick you... too hard.... Just a little nudge so you'll pay attention next time. Anyway, hope it goes OK this time.
