Default A friend is interested in buying my old Electra Glide Sport

I have a 1989 FLHS that I bought with 24,000 miles on it back in 1998-99, it now has 78,000 miles on it, it's stock with the exception of Paugcho (not sure on spelling) pipes and a S and S E model carb, I bought the bike this way. In 2001 I put a new 42 amp alternator and primary chain on it and rocker box gaskets. The heads have never been off this bike. in 2005 I put a new Gates Black Panther drive belt on it, other than routine oil changes and tires, this bike has been trouble free. I 2007 the gas tank rusted through and began to leak, so I parked it until I could find a tank. Never could find one until last year I got mint condition tank for it. My question is, I have a friend who's interested on buying the bike, I'll sell it because I don't really have the time to do what I want to do to it, I work 2 full time jobs as a career firefighter, plus I just bought a 2016 Road Glide Ultra. What is my old 1989 FLHS worth??? Please feel free to respond here or directly to my email at ff_heatseeker@Hotmail.com

Living in the UK I can't help on value, but best of luck in finding a worthy new owner for your FLHS!

If you look at the completed/sold auctions on Ebay it will give you an idea of the current trend of sales on these bikes. I just purchased an 88 FLHS and I can tell you that $4K is about top dollar right know, you might do a little better being in Florida, riding season is over up here. Mike

The used bike market was in the toilet before the M8 came out...now the handle has been pulled.

The last one that sold on ebay went for $3500...you can get a 2006-ish for 5k..

Post up some pictures for a better assessment but generally used bikes are going for $3,500 to $5,500.

You could try an ad in the HDF Classifieds?

A friend right? $3,000. And I would tell him to upgrade lifters now.

Just a WAG: $4500-$5500. I'm basing it on what my 1993 FLHS would fetch, which is 'around' $5000. But I live in Michigan where we're lucky to get a solid seven months of riding weather.
