S&S no longer remans EVOs
#21
I was cranky this morning, but a couple cups of coffee and an hour spent on a conference call beating up a potential vendor has it out of my system.
Boris0119, I hope my comment wasn't too sharp. Just having fun, you know. Sorry if I was a total dick. I'll frequently be kind of a dick, but if I fell into being a total dick, I apologize.
FWIW, I'm glad Scott/Hillside supports the Evo world. Even is S&S was still in the business, I'd think of Hillside as the better option.
As for S&S, my guess is they got to where they were selling 25 V111's for every rebuild job that came in. Their primary business is as a manufacturer, not a custom shop. I can understand why they made this decision.
My other thought is that, all things considered, it would be hard for me to justify a full rebuild of a stock Evo given the relative affordability of the 111. If your stocker gets worn out, get the S&S and put your stocker in the oven box the 111 came in. If by chance in the long distant future a numbers-matching Evo era bike is actually worth real money, you can always rebuild it and put it back.

Welcome back! You're actually in good company, so don't get anxious. Plenty of S&S supporters and users still in here.

I also like dealing with local businesses, but, seeing as I live in a village of 800 people, I'd own neither a guitar or a motorcycle if I was limited to local businesses.
