Forgot to mention, The kit I originally got I was able to return without any problem and Baker was having a New Years sale which gave me 15% off and free shipping. I tried but couldn't get them to also add my 10 % military discount on top of that but it was still a good deal.

Technically that isn't so. The DD6 is direct drive, meaning the output shaft turns at the same speed as the input shaft, when in top gear. With an overdrive trans, the output shaft turns faster than the input shaft. In the case of a Baker OD6, the input shaft turns at 0.86 times the rate of the output shaft, when in top gear.

The reason Baker provides a larger compensator with the DD6 is to raise overall gearing to give a similar final drive ratio to their OD6. That at least gives us an opportunity to play with overall ratios, more so than any other set-up I know of.
