In my experience you get more cooling from dyno oil than you do syn but that is with a Jagg oil cooler.

Wow...alot of different answers here. Now I'm confused. Reason?
I know the gauge is working, because when i did the oil change i was getting 25-30 on start-up and around 5 at isle when warm.
It was a nice day yesterday so i decided to take it for 2 5min rides. My oil pressure dropped to zero when it got hot. Even in 4th gear doing 55mph i had nothing reading on the oil gauge. Even though i was getting good pressure at start-up.

I didnt hear the motor doing any "clanking" as someone suggested that if it isn't doing that, I'm good to go. I should also say that at the time of the oil change, i put 1/3rd of a bottle of Lucas oil stabilizer.

If the oil light isn't on then you don't have a problem.

You're only confused because you're not paying attention to what was first said back in post #5. Stick some duct tape over that darned guage, before we send someone round to 'disable' it!

lol...and I guessed you missed this info in my posts
-I'm a newbie (no experience)
-not a stock Harley (custom hand built by my dad)
-picture I posted of an obvious overseas aftermarket dash)
-I mentioned....sure there is a light. I have no idea if it's hooked up. Could be just attached to a battery feed and will stay on forever.
-maybe that's why my dad added the pressure gauge.

So so when I have seen posts on here AND other threads of people posting numbers (psi) at revs on a hot day....and mine shows nothing on a cool day, 5min after warming up....you can see my concern. My father built his dream bike 2 years before passing away....so I would like to do it justice and keep every part on it that he had a hand in.
Looks like I will have to take the dash off and make sure the oil light line is hooked to what?? Lol

Post a picture of your engine where the gauge is connected

That's a cool looking chopper your dad built. The oil light should go off after start up and stay off while riding, including sitting at a stop light.
