If it's something else then I'd shave 3 thou off the speedo drive and test again.

Just got a call from the shop. It was a axel spacing issue as a result of my pm rear Caliper that was supposed to be and confirmed as a direct oem replacement not needing to respace. He told me to come by and see what he was talking about. I told him just to fix it, as they have a lathe to solve problems like this and I don't. Might as well as take care of it while its there and I am tired of dicking with it

Anyway it's going to someone with more expertise than me to figure it out why it feels loose in the rear when everything is tight. Wish me luck for something easy and dumb

Oh and it's my softail, not the dyna or Ducati

This is a guess mind you but the rear caliper mount is one of the axle spacers and if the width on the new one doesn't match the OEM one then you will get a spacing problem.

This^

Picked her up today. The pm Caliper has a removable spacer that kind of clips in where the axel goes through. When I got it it seemed too big. I called pm and confirmed that I got the right one twice. And they said yes I did. Well, the shop machined off the extra spacing and it lined her right up. Rides better. Problem solved. Now back to saving up for a v111

Congrats. Don't you love it when something is driving you crazy, then the fix is simple?
