Sure you can.
Just click on the smiley face (it's in the middle of the bar of stuff over the reply window just to the right of the icon to add a picture).

I bought an '07 this year with only 3400 miles on it. The DOT5 was jelly.

Good grief - you're right! There's more to Texas than meets the eye!

Believe it or not I corresponded with a Mod a while ago about the apparant loss of those symbols and he didn't mention that. Eternal thanks old chap - I shall forgive you your words above after all. Well, on this occasion.....

It's like rediscovering an old toy!

Yeah, DoT5 only turns bad if someone put some DoT3 in it. Otherwise, it is Really Good Stuff.

If the FXR was in my shop, I'd squirt some oil down the holes, oil pan under the breather, crank it a while intermittantly to try to get the oil out of the sump, change the oil and start it up.

Default If it has a crossover fuel line add fuel slowly making sure the line is worthy os more fuel.

If it has a crossover fuel line add fuel slowly making sure the line is worthy of more fuel. Ethanol is tough on fuel lines.

My 85 sat for 10 years. I added new gas, a new battery, fired it up, and drove off! Also added some seafoam to the gas to help clean the carb. She runs great!

My 89 also sat for about 7 years, added gas and a battery, it started but ran like crap. Had a buddy rebuild the S&S Super E, been running like a champ ever since!

".....just wants it running so he can see what it needs."

In my book your list is way past what's necessary to just get it running. Brakes flushed , lifters pulled/inspected cleaned, new battery, clean clutch plates and basically inspect/test what i can would all fall in the see what it needs after it's running catagory. Unless you're doing it for free the owner may not want to pay for all the extra work and supplies when he decides to scrap the project if the motor starts but sound like a garbage disposal with a fork in it. Do the gas-air-spark-start thing and let that determine what else "it needs" per the customer's request. I'm just sayin'.

Excellent... I don't always get the "for a Customer" part. We always had work orders...even in our tiny little shop...and that is what we did...
But, If my Indy needed the internet to work on my ****... different Indy time...
