1990 top end rebuild
#11
I'm planning for the worst, I hate disappointing myself. Hopefully when I get the engine out of the bike to redo the failing black engine paint, valve seals are all it will need. But I'd like to be prepared for bad news haha
that $7/at adds up on the 70-80 miles/7 days a week. Granted, winter is coming, but I'll still ride it,most of the time.

KISS
Steam clean the pistons and call it good .
(Water bottle induction)
A qt of oil in 1200 miles could be better, but not enough to rip it apart being you have good Comp in both cylinders.
Depending on how many miles you ride it should be good for at least another season and a lot more.
What you could do is just replace the valve stem seals.
No need to pull the heads just for that.
As to the pushrods with kind work just the same.
The factory style is a PIA as they are made for stock head Ht, and if you need to do any maint it is a lot more work
to pull nonadjustable out of the way.
