Default Starter Relay Stock location

My bike is a 1985 FXWG, Evo engine with a 4 speed, rear belt drive.
My starter relay the the old style big unit and now is located under the transmission held in place with a couple small Allen screws. Doesn't look like this is where is should be. Does anyone know the original located for the starter relay. thanks a bunch.

Don't know, but on my 94 it's on the frame under the seat right side near battery and fender.

It's based on a Shovel frame so the there should be room beneath the battery tray where many Shovelnoids are.
Some useful pics:

As an original owner of my 85 FXWG I can tell you for sure, it was originally located on a tab on the bottom of the battery tray.
It's the little square cube type relay.
It is NOT the older big relay pictured in the article in the post above.

On my 93 Heritage it's attached to the rear fender splash guard in back of the oil tank

Has nothing to do with the FXWG.
Also, the 1985 FXWG Wide Glide has nothing to do with any sort of Dyna wide Glide.
Nothing Dyna about any of the older Wide Glides.

Many years ago I replaced my original 85 FXWG battery tray with a chrome one. They didn't make chrome ones exactly like the original, since they were rather unique. The chrome one did not have the little tab on the bottom to mount the cube shaped relay, like the original. I made up a little mounting tab for it, next to the rear brake reservoir. I still have the original battery tray that has the tab for the relay. I'll post pics later.

If your bike is using the old style big relay somebody has made mods to the wiring harness as well.

Then you should have looked in the Service Maual for your 1985 FXWG. You do have a manual don't you??? Then again if you had a manual for an FX Shovelhead you could have looked in there.

I'm not the one asking the questions.
I'm the one providing ACCURATE answers.
Some others are posting things that are irrelevant to the original question.
And the question/answers have nothing to do with Shovelheads either, although I do have one of those as well.
1985 FXWG = Evo motor, 4 speed, kick start, engine solid mounted to frame (NOT dyna)
