Default Ignition switch

I have a 1991 flhtp police special. The only key is broken off in the ignition. The bike starts and runs and all that but I can not get old broken key out. I brought it to a bike show and he couldn't either
My two questions are. How can I remove this ignition with out being able to turn the key, and does anyone know who still makes these ignition? I'm. Not happy that any idiot walking by can start my bike

While No One around me would ever touch yer Bike... I live in a Good Place...
to say... I have disassembled the Switch on the Older ones... Can't say I have checked that possibility on one as new as yours... but, certainly a reasonably proficient Locksmith could fix the thing!!!

the part that the key is inserted into can be removed from the bike. there's a square pin under it that has to pulled with a pliers and it will pull off. you may have to remove the fuel tank to get it off. you can take it to a lock smith to get the key out or replace it with a different one. your service manual will explain it.

Use small brass rod, clamp a wire to it.
Hold the brass rod on the busted key, touch the other end of wire to hot side of the battery
You now have just welded the rod to the key.
Pull it out.

You can take a coping saw blade and cut the end off with a pair of side cutters.. Snip it at a 45* angle to the blade. Insert it along side the broken key and twist it a little towards the key as you pulling it out. The teeth of the blade pointing upwards will grab the broken key and pull it out.. Does not always work the first time but i have removed many broken keys this way..

all you have to replace is the part the key goes in. it's separate from the actual "ignition switch"
