It's the W6H.
Just got back from running around with it some more. Everything seems to be settling in nicely. I changed so many different things this winter, it's hard to say what any one of them did. The main thing I wanted on the motor was plenty of easy power, and I think I have it. Comes up to speed effortlessly, cruises easy. Very nice. It's still no where near being a fast bike, but it does seem like it is finally able to get out of its own way.
Ran down to my father in law's shed and took the bobber out for a spin. First start in over four months.
Video editing makes it look easy. What you don't see is the 15 minutes of frustration before this point.

You got that right!
I ran out to my nearby HD dealer to see if they had the gasket. (They didn't.) Every time I go there, i look around at the bikes and just don't feel it. Not sure what it is, but there is something these old bikes have that the new ones don't.
Found the gasket at a local indy shop, got everything back together. I think I may be in business here.

Got me something of a freshly rebuilt bike woody here today.
About 100 miles on her now. The motor feels like it has broken in nicely. She's no hot rod, but noticeably more vigorous. You really feel that on the highway. Going from 65 to 85 is way snappier than before.
No worries at all with the starter spinning the higher compression in the motor. She lights off easier than ever with no hesitation. The Woods W6H certainly gives it a meaner note.
I got the heat shields on last night, looked around, and realized there was nothing left to do until I get the new bags back from paint. I think the carburetion is close, but I'm going to run it next door to Mark's after 500 miles or so and throw it on his dyno. Waiting to re-rivet the timing cover also, in case we decide to tweak the timing during tuning.
Nice day here, so I decided to ride her into work. I really like this bike!

Just picked up the bags from paint.
It's not a perfect paint job, but it is ridiculously good for $200. Makes those cheapo bags look almost respectable.
Need to get the Sporty back together, plus my daughter is getting married tomorrow and that's seriously cutting into available garage time. Should have the Glide buttoned up next week.
