FWIW I always thought it was an either or on the copper or fibers.
I though the copper were crush washers (they certainly worked that way when I used them).

Live and learn I guess.

Yep.

In this case, I have a hard time thinking it makes much difference anyway. I'll keep an eye on things, and if I have leaking issues*, I'll deal with it then.

I've been putting up update videos on this project. Haven't linked them here, mostly because I don't like self-promotion. Anyway, someone sent a PM asking about that, so here you go: They are all in this playlist.

* I saw a guy buying a pack of Depends the other day. He looked younger than me. Maybe he was buying them for his mom or something? Anyway, it occurred to me that the day you finally break down and buy some of those has got to be pretty depressing. I'm glad I only have to worry about rocker box covers.

Bad news is my cam is hitting the case, so I'm going to have to get in there with a grinder and make some relief.

Any advice on doing that?
Omaha, I noticed that you put in a Woods W6H cam. I have a 90 FXR that I am going to pull the top end and have a performance valve job, bore the cylinders and put in higher compression pistons. After talking with a few people I was thinking of putting in a Woods W6 cam because the .510 lift should be a bolt in cam without having to clearance the cast. What's the lift and duration on the W6H cam?

Edit: Just noticed that says twin cam. I'll double check my spec sheet later.

Just spent the last three hours wrestling with the bags. The replacement parts finally came in.

Except for the hinge. Morons sent the one for the right side when I asked for the left. I think I made the old one work anyway.

After all that, I'm still of the opinion that I'm going to wait a season before spending the $$$ getting those painted. I don't trust the hardware to hold together. We'll see how it goes.
