Is it because of our dememted right wrist?
i almost never ride my wife’s 08 twink and even when I do, it just doesn’t beg for abusive take offs and high rev stints like my 014 does. Other than simple stage one tweeks, only thing that seperate them
is mine I did a final drive both front and rear sproket swap to a 30/70. So one might understand why it begs to fly off the line

my wife has an 08. Oild stays fresh looking longer and barely burns a drop.
mine’s a 14 and I add 10-12oz every 800-1000mi and gets dark quick. Tho both bikes run really well. Very cool below 225 mostly at idle in summer and good on fuel and no smoke.
Honestly, I've never measured how much oil I take out on an oil change but only know that I add approximately 2.5 quarts every oil change and I never see a drop in oil level between changes.. not sure there is an acceptable amount. I do know when I worked for Chrysler years back they wouldn't consider an oil consumption issue an issue until the motor used a quart in 1000 miles... To me that's excessive. But a 1/2 quart in 3000 miles is acceptable....

Everything is a compromise
The higher one goes in performance there are trade-offs..
The only tab of measurements I have on mine, and it is sort of vague is, -
going to and from Sturgis .
Now that is two up, heavy and mostly over 85 MPH for a good portion of it
And quite high OAT temps .
I usually have to add about a 1/2 a QT on each end of the 1500 mile trip.
I think that is tolerable.

can we then maybe say that every bike’s different?
Even when its the same model and year, when it comes to certain things like oil consuption?
We know it is that way with gasoline fepending on the ride we’re doing.
Or does it have to do with how we twist that throttle that forces the machine to drink more fluids?

It's all up to the user and his or her limits of acceptability... Sort of like those oil threads... Anyways, Carry on Gentlemen....

Absolutely!
One has to know what he is dealing with or he is just Presuming a lot.
The goal of no oil use is an insane goalpost anyways.
If a person is running a little engine say with 8.5 to 1 compression he is less likely to use more oil.
Simple

Sustained high RPM may result in "throwing" oil up into the vent system, and/or the intake tract. So, it may not be "using" oil in the typical sense. Or, it may be a contributing factor in oil volume loss.

I collect the oil exiting my crank case, and I usually find hardly any. Mostly a beige frothy substance. Never fill the crank /oil bag past the 1/2 wY mark and only add when it is barely noticeable on the stick.
About a 1/4 every 3,200mi. RPM’s usually @3,400 5th gear hwy

Skirts look pretty good to me. Just oily carbon on piston tops. Standard bore

More oily carbon. Heads dont appear to have had any sort of work. Definitely need valve seals.
Just and update...I got the engine out today, and pulled the heads. Cylinders look really nice, no scoring etc on walls, or piston skirts. Just a lot of oily carbon in piston tops, and in the heads. Everything is oily wet.

That looks like a huge carbon build up. Has to cause some negative effect on power
