See.... I’d like to make something to replace the bracket.... thought about the quick disconnect but I’m thinking I don’t want to see anything around the fender.... but who knows one step at a time

To the guy seeking answers that started this thread, nothing better than working on a bike that means something to you. Sounds like your a guy that will learn a subject you set your mind on and actually have a sense of humor. I find your thread of value because have watched the Evo section become so god darn serious abandoning comradery and deflecting from what helping a fellow biker is about which has been it's strength for years. I've learned stuff from Evo members on here and grateful for the deep desire they possess and personally try to help back, just seems the soul is slipping away.

Pretty simple, especially if you're not going to ride 2 up or use the tourpak.

Heck I still have them. Thankfully not quite as often now a days..
Reading here has had a a lot to do with the not as often.
Not to mention some DA questions of my own in times gone by.

If you get to that point, I know where this seat lives, for now. The owner will probably sell it in the near future or trade it for other Harley parts LOCAL.
