You can look up "Book" prices on line.

Kelly Blue Book (KBB) and the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) are the two biggest ones.

As Mofo67 said, KBB price is $3,955 for trade in and $6,260 for retail, Excellent Condition, that means new tires, recent service, no mechanical or cosmetic defects. Not many 1994's are Excellent condition.

https://www.kbb.com/motorcycles/harl...icetype=retail

NADA puts the price for excellent condition quite a bit higher, but "Good" condition is right around the $3k your dad paid. From what I can see in the pictures it is better than "Good" condition.

In the end it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it and around this time of year, at least here in Virginia, bike prices are much lower than the book values.

.

The used Harley market is in the toilet...the number of people that want a 24 year old bike is very low...

You can get a 10 year old fatboy for $6,260...MOST people are going to buy the newest bike they can afford...

The stars would have to be in perfect alignment to get much more than the $3k your dad paid...this time of year

Sorry for your loss.
Unless you need the money, I would hang on to it. Looks like a great bike, and you may find it's value to you is not in monetary numbers. Just a thought.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Evos - there is a silver lining in life after all. On the bulb front, the usual suspects include a corroded bulb holder, ditto ground connection, also poor wiring connector nearby. Dr Hess is our electrical wizard and the chaps above have already directed you to his pearls of wisdom on charging, at the top of this section.

Default 1994 HD Evo

HD did several improvements in 1994 so I picked up a Fatty that year. Did the usual for the day - cam, pipes, Sportster needle in the carb, Dynatek
ICU and external breather setup. One thing that HD didn't improve was the thin paper cylinder base gaskets and they will start leaking if you jump
on it before it warms up - word of caution from personal experience.

I have to agree, I started looking for another bike and found a 86 fxrs and after talking with the owner we settled on $3800 but the funny thing is I continued to look and found some for even less.. I would think it's definitely a buyers market....
