Also a good quick test for the module is to use a test light to test each control wire to the coil, the light should flash when running or cranking, mine did on the rear pot but just stayed on solid on the front.
Glad you're back out in the wind!!!!!!!!!!
I'm guessing that means bad out of the box right?
So you went with a 2000p?

Yes mate thats right, the replacement module which I have found out is a Chinese copy of the Crane HI 4 was a dud straight out of the box. Thought I new the old bile as i have personally fully rewired the old girl when I repainted the frame. Anyway all good and as you said, back in the wind.....

The Chinese copy he was taking about was the replacement cam sensor/ignition module that he got from midusa.
As for the Crane ignitions from everything I've heard the old ones were very good but the new ones are crap.

Because now they are made in china like everything else?
I don’t understand how they can **** up a direct copy ofa design that includes detailed information.
Yet they’re considered a formidable threat in the high teck industry. https://thediplomat.com/2018/08/unde...ological-rise/
Or is it the American antreprenure that can not distinguish a quality Chinese manufacturer from a hack?

Some things China does well.
Your computer and your cell phone are made there and done well.
Their knockoff industry is where they fall flat on their face.
The reason China's knockoff industry is doing so well is a bunch of people want to spend as little as possible while forgetting the old axiom of "If you want something good you have to be ready to pay for it".
A lot of people will buy the cheapest piece of crap they can find and expect it to work like a high quality expensive part or tool.

Yep totally agrree with Tex that you pay for quality, the shop that i bought the mid-USA ignition module told me that he had only heard good things about the product, maybe i was just unlucky. I needed a module in a hurry only reason I went mid-USA and it bit me on the ****, never mind learnt from it. Dynatek 2000 is a great unit and all but the pickup is now under my seat.
