Baggers are not your only option.
Myself I prefer my Heritage.
IMO the big baggers are just too smooth due to their rubber mounted motors but that's probably just me.

Here's my vote for a touring model...or certainly a heritage softail......Road Kings are a good bet as they are big bikes, but with only a windshield and saddlebags.....you may find one is a little easier on the wallet....although ALL the older EVO's are easy money these days and worth every penny too. As for weight.....the EVO's are well balanced and you won't notice the weight at all.

EVO Dynas will be a desirable bike in the near future. Get one now, while they are still cheap. In my humble opinion they are the LAST REAL HARLEY.

Just curious why ya think this.

I don't feel I paid too much for a 98 Wide Glide at $6000. I got what I wanted, for what I was willing to pay. I just kinda wonder whether they'll go up or down.

As I was trying to find one I got the feeling they were gonna go the way my 1996 Bronco has gone, from a worthless undesirable old truck, to a sorta hard to find semi-classic 4x4. Kinda the last of the real trucks too.

I payed $ 7500 for my ’98 Wide Glide with true and confirmed 4431 miles on the odometer.

To much? Probably, even by Swedish standards

But I wanted that bike!
It’s an EVO!
No CanBus, no body computer, no electronic gizmos to give me troubles.

Come to think of it the bike resembles its owner, soon to be obsolete...

20 years between them. ’98 versus ’18

I can only hope the 7600 on mine is true, but I dont have much reason to doubt it.

Old and obselete...... A little more every day.

and exactly why I wanted THAT bike too

If it's the right bike for me, why couldn't it be the right one for you?

I have had many Harleys over many years and my 98 FXDWG is the one I love and I am keeping. I love the evolution engine and just rebuilt mine at 65000. The suspension is great on both back roads and on the highway. I have had 2 Evo softails and although I loved them, the Softail is hard mounted to the frame. Vibration city for hands and feet. Dynas are like touring bikes that handle. You can add windshield, or quarter fairing cause, and as much luggage as you want. It is comfortable solo or 2 up.
I live in Philly area, so shitted up roads are part of the deal. No motorcycle that I can think of likes bumpy, shitty roads.

Whats great for one is not for another. Never ever take my advice but my 97 WG is my ultimate bike compared to anything ever made once ya slide the 111 in there its about more than you can stand.
