Default ‘97 Road King needs new handle bars

I noticed the right and left sides of my handle bars aren’t exactly the same. After pulling the top nacelle and loosening the bar clamps, I found the bars have a crack under the clamp.

If memory serves me, they were HD “2” over” touring bars. I’ve searched, but can’t find anything referencing stock RK bars. They came drilled for internal wire routing.

Any ideas where to find something similar.

Have you tried calling your local dealer and seeing if the parts guy/gal can find what you're looking for?

Heritage bars are probably close to what you have

I have a set of stock bars off my '98, I swapped out to a set of generic 12" apes from JP cycles as that's as high as you can go without needing extended cables/wiring. PM me if you're interested in them.

I know that lots of folks swapped out the Stock FLHR bars for Heritage bars, but I can’t find measurements anywhere for EVO models. Lots of info on ‘02 and up.

as I measure my 2” over touring bars:

10” wide through clamp, clamp is 4-4.5”
8” - 9” rise
10” -11” pull back to end of grips

31” - 32” overall width grip to grip

I like these bars, they put my hands slightly above my slightly bent elbows and are at the correct height to push down on the bar to lean the bike. They also line up straight with the angle of the forks.

Ya, the Heritage bars was really popular on several different models when checking into some taller bars.

IIRC those measurements sound awful close to the stock bars off my Heritage.
If you do decide to try a set of stock Heritage bars remember they aren't drilled for internal wiring.

I want chrome plated bars, I think the stock heritage bars came SS. So takeoffs won’t work.

its crazy that I can’t find measurements for the Heritage bars, and HD references everything to stock bars... no specs just how many inches taller/wider, etc comparison to stock.

The ones I took off mine were chrome.

Check out the HD tall boy bars. They are a little taller than stock and chrome. 9.5" I think. I like them a lot.
