Speed kings tail light install help.
 

Started last night installing my new speed kings tail light with integrated turn signals on my 98 super glide sport. Got all the wiring figured out only issue i had there was the turn signals just come on solid and dont blink but i think a load equalizer will fix that but then i go to mount the light on the old base and the new light dont fit cause it hits where the old bulb would twist in. Anyone have any remedy for this? I see they sell new base plates but they all list for 99 and up bikes. Does anyone know if they mount the same on the fender? All i need is a small hole in the base plate for wires to run through simce they are gonna be hard wired. Only other thing i could think was to shave down the old base till the light will fit but i feel theres a better way since i see many older dynas and fxrs with this style tail light.
