How long did it take to sell your bike?

If you don't mind me asking, why specifically do you want to switch from a dyna to RK. Just hard bags, or some other features? I don't want to tell you what to do but I looked up your "green machine" on your home page and that's a nice looking bike. You can add some features to a dyna that normally go with a softtail or even touring (RK is touring) models.

Thanks guys. Thanks for all the links 01Dyna. I figured list it at $4600 while looking to get $4K. I think that's reasonable considering what I've seen for sale out there. I'm looking for thoughts on what the market is like right now, especially for Evos. Are they desirable or is everyone going after the TC bikes? I look at an Evo bike as something special now. Like the way I looked at the Shovels in the late 90's. Not sure how many riders out there think or know much about Evos anymore being that TC bikes have been the norm for 20 years.
@ 01Dyna Yeah, I like that Fatboy. I really like this Heritage, though. https://kansascity.craigslist.org/mc...879533417.html That's gorgeous.
I am hoping to snag an early TC88 white carbed police Road King, but I could live with other colors. I can even live with the RK not being a police version, but I want hard bags and a carb. I am seeing bikes that fit the bill with low miles in the $6K range.
I've been mulling this over for a few years. I almost feel guilty planning on selling this bike. As if I was planning on breaking up with a loyal, loving girlfriend so I can go out slutting around looking for something better.

texashillcountry, I don't think a TC is better than an Evo at all. When I started RK shopping I was looking for another Evo. I had a hard time finding Evo RKs anywhere near me, so I started adding early TC88 bikes to the searches. I would buy an Evo RK if I found one I want.
01Dyna, thanks for the compliment on my bike. I'm ready to move from the Dyna to a RK mostly for convenience and comfort. I want more of both. Plus, I've been riding the Dyna for almost 13 years now. I am ready for a change, too. I think the RK will suit my needs. I feel it'll give me the options I want whether I am cruising locally or taking off for a weekend trip and will be more comfortable for me.

Hate to pop that love bubble but evos are as common as twinkies. It's a numbers game with those designs, moco made far too many of both to make them " desirable" . Your's is a good bike may want to rethink trading for a twinkie, you've already got the better side of that deal.
Ha, My love bubble is popped. I get what you are saying about the numbers.

The way I figure it, they factor in $500 to get it to them, and $500 to get it to the eventual buyer. They probably have a formula where they have to have at least $1000 gross margin to make any deal worth doing. Probably add some percentage from there.
And they are going to play it safe, for them, on the low side.
Add all that up and what RumbleOn is saying is they think they can get at least $3700 or so out of the bike. Which is pretty close to your $4k number, so you know you're in the ballpark.

The RumbleOn offer is good information.

Wow! My ‘94 FLSTN Heritage Softail with 223,000 miles on it was valued at $2217 for SCRAP after the accident in April. That was with a destroyed front end and a bent frame. I guess I made out like a fat rat when my insurance adjuster valued the bike and accessories at $10,900! I figure that was about 3X what I could have sold the bike for.
