Default Tank Decal Sources?

Hi All,

Anyone have a good source for tank decals? I've got an '85 FXRS limited edition and would love to find a new set of decals. Bounced it a few years ago and had to sacrifice the decals for new paint. Many thanks to all.

In my limited experience, sometimes dealers can still get older items.

I'd set up a "watch this item" in Ebay. Lots of tank decals come up there.

You might also want to watch for a pair of NOS tanks on Ebay. Amazing what comes up there...

I've heard that when a decal gets really old it gets brittle and can't be used so you might want to ask around about that.

Of course there are people who can make any kind of decal you want including intricate artwork so if you can get a pic of one it could be done.

Other than those ideas, maybe someone else knows.

Hmmm, any links to "those people" that can make one? I've got pics and can make an illustrator file or some such for them. Guess I would be looking for vinyl cutters?

Naw, that's the issue. Vinyl cutters are a dime a dozen. We're talking about multi colored silk-screened water slide-off decals. You'd have to want it pretty badly to pay for the setup to just run a handful.

Here's an example of an outfit that does it but I have no idea what it costs.

I guess Harley would have a bit of a chapped *** if I had an extra 10 printed and sold them, eh? Could cover the cost of production, though it sounds like a bit of work. Maybe it's time for that ghost flame paint job I've always wanted! Least I could justify it to the ole lady that way!

J and P have a fairly limited selection for my money

I would really recommend running the part number for the decal past the guys at Miller's Custom Parts in Daytona Beach.

www.millerscustomparts.us

They have an awesomerange of NOS and repro decals

try here also: www.nosparts.com

Good luck - - gotta love our '85s!

Harley dealers (not all of 'em ) have a book of decals with P/N of every decal produced by the MoCo.

this book is an ultra-rare item...I know it exists but never seen one myself.

Try Miller's CustomParts in Daytona. I saw a bunch of them behind the counter last time I was there.
